Anticipating summer’s end is a topic one never likes to think about. In fact the only thing fashionistas start to reflect upon, come September, is Fall Fashion. Yup...forewarn the postman as the biblical Fall Fashion issues of Vogue, In Style, Cosmo, Mademoiselle, and the like hit your doorsteps.
- Just to save you gals a little time and give you a head start on fall trends, here are the Top 5 Fall Trends from chicstreets!

1. Black and White: What better colors to transition from light summer colors to darker hues? Clearly the trend will be staples like black pencil skirts, crisp white blouses, white & black suits, skirts, and dresses. We found some of our favorite selections in the Victoria Secret Catalog...Here, black microfiber pants are paired with a black ribbed turtleneck, accented by an ivory 3/4 quarter twill jacket.
Black and White is also one of the simplest, most dramatic methods of figure flattery. Like waving a white flag, wearing a white dress gets you instant attention. Adding black lines of demarcation trick the eye to go where you want, lengthening (verticals) and slimming (diagonals) in the process.

2. Ribbons and Bows: Take note on you next shopping excursion..sweet little ribbons and bows are the new details that are making fashion well...darling! Showing both innocence and sophistication, the look is ever so sweet on the waists of skirts, dresses and even accented on accessories. A sure tool of seduction, these details were hot on the fall runways. Our favorite find was the little black dress accented with a black ribbon and bow at Anthropologie for $100.

3. Animal Expressions: This cyclical trend is back lending itself to fall favorites like the black & white zebra print on apparel, handbags and shoes; A sure hit is the cheetah (leopard) print which is softest on sheer blouses, our favorite is by Dolce & Gabbana sold at Bloomingdales. Fashion gals will hit the streets in crocodile embossed boots, handbags and snakeskin pumps.

4. Chandelier Earrings: One of our favorite accessories, delicate drop earrings, slightly dusting the shoulders are the must-have accessory item of the holiday season. We suggest keeping the look dramatic and bold with hair all pulled back. Get in on the trend with circular shaped styles set in vermeil or silver set with crystal or your favorite gemstone.

5. Past/Present Perfection: The cool elegance of the 1930’s comes through in art deco inspired accessories and apparel. From vintage inspired bags in geometric shapes, to sequined dresses, designers like Stella McCartney are dressing up tweed with satin tops to tie a pulled together look of the past into the present. New favorites for fall come in every color imaginable from classic black and white to pastel purple and pink. Seen here, a fluted skirt by Hugo boss accented with a tweed Kate Spade bag.
